Staff Accountant

OPEX Corporation is looking for a full-time Staff Accountant to work at our World Headquarters in Moorestown, NJ.  This role will be heavily involved in the revenue recognition cycle initially.  The ideal candidate will be curious and have a hunger for learning and personal growth as we work towards developing them to be major contributors in the finance department.

 

Essential Responsibilities

 

Revenue Recognition/Billing

  • Recognize revenue and cost of goods sold timely
  • Review contracts and create milestone invoices
  • Create and distribute invoices to customers timely
  • Assist with the end-to-end process for Accounts Receivable 
  • Review quotes and orders for accuracy in pricing and accounting
  • Identify and communicate issues with billing, payment terms, or collections issues
  • Assist accounts receivable coordinator with customer relations

 

General Accounting

  • Draft and post month end journal entries (reclassifications, etc.)
  • Maintain monthly account reconciliations
  • Review data for accuracy
  • Assist with Month End and Year End closing procedures
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting to management
  • Perform other accounting duties associated with the Finance department

 

Professionalism/Personal Demeanor

  • Engage with non-finance team members as needed to understand and better serve the company operations
  • Maintain relationships with sales and project management to ensure timely and accurate billing
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Be responsive to customers (both internal and external) while maintaining integrity and quality of service 
  • Evaluate possible efficiencies with the ERP system


 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Oracle and MS Dynamics 365ERP experience preferred but not required
  • Strong communication skills through e-mail, telephone, and instant messaging
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be self-driven, creative, and motivated to build new skills and grow with the position
  • Curious mindset, willing to ask questions in order to gain confidence to make decisions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to comprehend fast-paced business issues and practices
  • Must have 2+ years in an Accounting Role

 

Physical/Work Environments

  • Worker will be working in an office setting
  • Sitting for an extended period of time

 

Salary range $60K - $80K, based on experience.
