We are searching for the best talent for Engineer, Software & Controls Support. 

 

The Sr Software & Controls Support Engineer oversees all lower environment software validation testing and software project delivery for two business critical technology platforms supporting the DePuy Synthes global distribution hub in Mooresville, IN.  Our mission is to be undeniably the best distribution center within the worldwide DePuy Synthes network.  We do that through relentless focus on our customers, pursuit of E2E systems refinement, and fostering a culture of excellence.  

You will be responsible for: 

  • Facilitating daily troubleshooting and support activities for warehouse execution systems and automation controls, in partnership with our technology suppliers and with onsite technology users 

  • Providing end-to-end ownership of our support ticket inventory, aging, prioritization, and communication program, while ensuring technology suppliers are pursuing development and QA testing according to planned timelines 

  • Overseeing the usability and uptime performance of WES testing environments, while partnering with suppliers to ensure licensing, simulation, and versioning are maintained to current standards 

  • Ensuring design specification, qualification, and change control documentation is current, controlled, and approved to meet quality, and information security requirements 

  • Building and executing validation plans, system test scripts, protocols, and reports; maintain and ensure appropriate traceability of records 

  • Conducting structured root cause analyses to find opportunities that impact throughput, quality, service, or reliability goals; exemplify a service mentality and proactively collaborate with team members in hands-on aspects of system testing and verification 

Qualifications 

Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, with focus in Industrial/Systems, Computer Science, or Information Systems 

Experience and Skills 

Required: 

  • Minimum four (4) years of engineering work experience with Bachelor’s degree, or minimum (10) years of direct experience in software or Rockwell controls quality testing, deployment, and support 

  • Experience in warehousing/distribution or production environments in a technical role 

  • Hands-on experience implementing equipment and systems; providing technical contribution to software deployments and engineering change controls 

  • Ability to be a technical administrator and authoritative user of an MES or WES application, with hands-on computer system validation, MSSQL, and SSRS experience preferred 

  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and frequent communication are required, including the ability to write technical and non-technical documents, rationalize conclusions and recommendations, and present information effectively to leadership 

  • Ability to excel in an inclusive work and fast-paced environment that incorporates a diverse range of team member perspectives and priorities 

  • This is not a desk job; active engagement in the physical production environment with systems, equipment, and people is critical to success 

Preferred: 

  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical or medical device manufacturing or warehousing/distribution 

  • ASTQB certification 

  • Working knowledge of Exacta WES, Rockwell Studio 5000, VMware, Windows Server, JIRA, MSSQL, and Oracle DB 

  • Supervisory experience in software quality assurance and development 

  • Experience leading multi-functional low to mid-level complexity projects 

Other: 

  • Able to travel up to 10% of domestic and international travel 

  • This role requires 100% onsite presence, Mon – Fri, to be effective 

  • Occasional weekend hours may be necessary during automation deployments
