Quality Control Lab Technician

Status: Full Time - Day Shift

Hours: 12-hour shifts, 7:00am - 7:00pm

Schedule: 2-2-3 rotating shifts (work 15 days a month!)


Summary

The Quality Laboratory Technician is responsible for the sampling, testing and inspection of finished product that adheres to the Company’s standards and specifications.

What You Will Be Doing

Lab Tech 1 

  • Prepare samples and perform liquid analytical testing to determine that the finished product meets the customer’s quality standards and specifications. 
  • Perform line checks to ensure product and packaging meet specifications. 
  • Perform line equipment inspections at the preset frequency. 
  • Prepare and organize production folders and collect appropriate production documentation from other departments. 
  • Perform food safety checks to ensure the filling equipment meets specifications prior to filling finished product. 
  • Collect and test customer and onsite retains. 
  • Identify and segregate all out of specification product. 
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all finished product and equipment testing. 
  • Confirm production material and equipment setup for new production. 
  • Receive and test CO2 deliveries. 
  • Maintain a cleanly lab environment. 
  • Attend daily production huddles.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, secondary education preferred. At least 3 years related experience and/or training, preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw/interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual needs to have basic computer skills and the ability to learn manufacturing software.
