Our business directly addresses the Defense and Security markets in North America, Asia Pacific and Latin America. We currently have an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager.
The Manufacturing Engineer will focus on optimizing manufacturing processes, driving efficiency, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process improvement, production support, and knowledge of aerospace or defense manufacturing requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Design and implement manufacturing tools, equipment, and procedures.
- Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability of products and adherence to specifications.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, address issues, and recommend process improvements.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) by developing production plans and assisting with prototypes.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, including AS9100 regulations.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure material and component quality.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including process instructions, engineering drawings, and technical reports.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, improve lead times, and enhance product quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the aerospace/defense industry.
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- U.S. citizenship required due to government contract requirements.
