The Production Manager is hands-on overseeing the day-to-day activities in Production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. Develops and executes production schedules based on MRP activities, current and forecasted demand, resource efficiency, and materials supply.
The role manages the activities of the team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training and development, and performance management of the staff. Plans and administers procedures in accordance with the Aerospace Quality Management System. Develops schedules and resource requirements for assigned areas. Controls labor and selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. This role works in close collaboration with Supply Chain/Planning, Quality Management, Program Management, and Logistics teams within the operation. The Production Manager is a customer-focused leader with experience supporting U.S. Government and Military customer requirements and demonstrated ability to schedule, forecast and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities and Requirements
- Manage cells and multiple work centers within the facility including resources required to scale for growing production demand
- Ensure production schedules and goals are achieved, meeting product quality requirements
- Work with various departments to coordinate the daily activities and resolve any issues
- Manage workload schedule and all personnel documentation, shifts, overtime, and vacation requests
- Work with PM and planners to ensure product meets the schedule commitment
- Lead by example, teach, coach and mentor a workforce to support quality-driven, customer focused operations
- Review current manufacturing processes, evaluate efficiency and gap analysis. Create and implement clear documentation of work instructions.
- Generate status and progress reporting for management. Monitor and report target KPIs.
- Data entry into ERP system production work order management
- Have a sense of urgency and a pro-active approach to problem solving
- High energy and action oriented with the ability the thrive in a fast-paced, high growth environment
- A demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and in writing
- Proficient in identifying gaps in production and creating solutions to resolve them
- Experience in training and coaching Lean principles
- Experience managing production within an AS9100 QMS certified environment
- 路 Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). NetSuite experience is a plus
- 5+ years experience in production management supporting Aerospace and Defense customers
- Bachelor鈥檚 Degree in manufacturing or related field is preferred
- US citizenship is required/Background check
- Ability to commute to the Moorpark office 5 days a week
