Quantum-Systems Inc is a global leader in aerial intelligence and autonomous, AI-powered aerial robotics. We design, develop, manufacture and deliver eVTOL Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and an ecosystem of related products and services. Our business directly addresses the Defense and Security markets in North America, Asia Pacific and Latin America. We currently have an opening for a Software Engineer II. This position reports to the Software Engineering Manager.

As a Software Engineer II at Quantum-Systems you will play a critical role in solving challenges within the dynamic and competitive government UAS industry. In this role, you will be a creative problem solver, tackling the multi-faceted problems facing our various platforms and delivering cutting edge technology transforming the battlespace. Candidates will exemplify their technical acumen to identify, create and advance new technologies aligned to our company's vision for UAS and Airborne Artificial Intelligence. From envisioning future warfighter needs to executing advanced platform technologies you will be at the forefront of Aerial Intelligence.

Responsibilities:

The Software Engineer II is responsible for the following:

  • Collaborate as part of the Quantum-Systems engineering team
  • Integrate unmanned system technologies such as edge computed data fusion, vision AI, teaming and payload coordination
  • Developing control algorithms for Vehicle and Payload control
  • Developing windows applications in WPF supporting video and imagery
  • Position requires travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs
  • Embody, promote, and live the Quantum Systems core principles

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 2-3 years of Embedded Software experience
  • 2+ years Experience in Embedded Linux design including low level ethernet UDP/TCP packet transmission
  • Capable of working both independently and in a team environment
  • Experience in Video and Data Communications across Ethernet
  • Demonstrated experience in embedded C++, C#, WPF
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • U.S. citizenship required/background check due to government contract requirements.
  • Ability to commute to the Moorpark office 5 days a week

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated Experience in Video and Data transmission
  • Demonstrated Experience in Windows WPF development
  • Embedded communication networks using UDP streams and sockets
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate and test complex systems including Datalinks, Control systems and vehicles
  • Experience with small Unmanned Aircraft development experience a plus
