In partnership with the Social Worker assigned, this position acts as a mentor to minors ,oversees and coordinates stabilization services for children, assist with managing the environment including crisis intervention and de-escalation, monitoring and engaging in supportive one-to-one to ensure the necessary supports to children and Resource Families. Acts as a liaison to the child, Resource parent, respective Social Worker/Therapist, Program and Clinical Directors as indicated.

  • Meet with Resource Family to provide guidance and support as indicated on child鈥檚 treatment goals, assist in the development of behavioral contracts and other interventions intended to manage the child, maintain a safe environment to promote the stability of the placement.
  • Implement Therapeutic Crisis Intervention as needed to ensure safety of children in the Resource Family home.
  • 路 Minimize disruption by anticipating problems and taking appropriate action to avoid crisis, and calmly manage challenging situations.
  • Maintain and enforce a zero-tolerance policy for all forms of sexual abuse, harassment and inappropriate sexual behavior.
  • Provide a coordinated response with medical and mental health care practitioners, community service providers, outside investigators, and care provider leadership immediately following an incident of sexual abuse or sexual harassment as well as the follow-up necessary to ensure the safety of all children and staff.
  • Educating UC of policies and topics related to preventing, detecting, and responding to sexual abuse and harassment via an orientation, pamphlets, and bulletin board postings.
  • Assess all children for risk of being a victim or a perpetrator of sexual abuse while in ORR care in order to inform the child鈥檚 housing, education, recreation, and other service assignments.
  • Assists in providing child and family with a structured orientation to address policies and procedures as well as questions or concerns.
  • Provides relevant information to assist with appropriate de-escalation, treatment interventions and schedule consultations with treatment team, as needed.
  • Provides necessary transportation and accompanies the child to various appointments, psychiatric appointments, medical health screenings and other services, as needed.聽


Minimum Qualifications:聽

  • Bachelor鈥檚 Degree strongly preferred. Associates Degree and at minimum one year working with unaccompanied children may be considered, must be able to operate standard office equipment and be computer literate, excellent verbal, written, analytical and problem-solving skills. Bi-Lingual English and Spanish required.
