Purpose  

The Qualified Member of the Engine Department (QMED) supports the Chief Engineer and Engineering Officer in the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of vessel machinery, equipment, and associated systems. This role performs routine maintenance, assists with repairs, monitors equipment condition, and helps maintain engineering spaces to support operational readiness, regulatory compliance, and protection of the marine environment.
