General Sales Manager

SMC Dealership Group – North Bay Area Luxury Dealership

SMC Dealership Group is seeking an experienced and performance-driven General Sales Manager for one of our North Bay area luxury rooftops. This is a critical leadership role designed for a hands-on individual who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and understands how modern sales operations, CRM strategy, and digital engagement drive measurable results.


The General Sales Manager is responsible for leading the entire sales team, managing daily sales activities, and ensuring the achievement of all established objectives.

Core Responsibilities

The successful candidate will oversee the following areas, maintaining strong accountability across the department:


  • Sales Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the sales floor, ensuring process execution and efficiency.

  • Performance & Financial Oversight: Monitor forecasts and budgets, and partner closely with executive management to align sales strategy with broader dealership objectives.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, develop, and motivate a high-performing sales team.

  • Customer Experience: Ensure a culture centered on exceptional customer satisfaction and experience.

  • Digital Sales Strategy: Oversee lead management, pricing strategy, consistent lead controls, internet lead handling, and the execution of digital retailing tools.

  • Process Discipline: Drive strong operational discipline, utilizing data and translating insights into action.

Qualifications and Requirements

Qualified candidates will demonstrate the following:


  • Prior automotive sales management experience is required.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Deep understanding of CRM workflows and digital sales methodologies.

  • Ability to drive both people development and process improvement.

  • Experience with systems such as:

    • DealerSocket

    • Reynolds and Reynolds

    • DealerTrack

    • Various digital sales tools
