About the role

This position is responsible for operating industrial equipment that produces components, subassemblies or assembled finished goods across various processes in a safe, clean and efficient manner. Operator II is responsible for the operation of fully automated machinery.


Responsibilities

  • Documents production and quality records on specified forms
  • Marks and labels containers, container tags, or products using marking tools
  • Packs and seals product/containers using hand tools
  • Performs periodic visual inspections and gauging
  • Operates automated assembly equipment to include procuring material, loading material into machinery, monitoring Human Machine Interface (HMI) on faults, and escalating to technicians as needed
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
  • May be required to transfer palleted material within the production area using a manual pallet jack
  • Cleans work areas using basic cleaning materials
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Understanding of basic mechanical concepts and ability to work in a highly technical environment
  • Knowledge of automated machinery and processes preferred
  • Listens and obtains clarification, responds well to questions
  • Works well in a group problem solving situation
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgement, includes appropriate people in decision-making process
  • Volunteers readily, seeks increased responsibilities, asks for and offers help when needed
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to multi-task in an automated environment
  • An active learner with the ability to share information to aid in problem solving
  • Ability to move your hand(s), your hand(s) together with your arm(s), or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
  • Ability to focus on a single source of sound in the presence of other distracting sounds
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions, and apply to work standards
  • Ability to communicate in verbal and written English
  • Requires standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, pulling, pushing, and feeling
  • Requires eye/hand/foot coordination
  • Requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds

  • Ability to work 6pm to 6am

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Significant experience and skills in the field may be considered in lieu of diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year technical experience, manufacturing environment preferred

Travel

  • Up to 1% may be required
