Job DetailsJob Location: Morgantown Office - Morgantown, WV 26508Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High School DiplomaJob Shift: DayNATURE OF WORK: The Accounting Assistant is responsible for providing support to multiple positions in the accounting department and by doing so assures that daily business transactions are recorded timely and accurately. 聽 ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 路 Prepares daily and/or weekly reports to be sent to management and supervisors. 路 Records cash receipts for use of cash application and back reconciliations. 路 Assists with maintaining and reporting for client payee accounts. 路 Prepares and supports accounts payable schedules or entries and purchasing. 路 Prepares grant reconciliations and reporting monthly and quarterly. 路 Prepares financial, budget, and grant analysis as requested. 路 Prepares and supports credit card receipt collection and entry. 路 Assists with monthly closing processes, including preparing schedules, entering journal entries, and assisting with financial reporting. 路 Prepares reconciliations of asset and liability accounts monthly to ensure validity and completeness. 路 Prepares and acquires approval of monthly general ledger entries, prepares and posts standard and recurring monthly entries, including adjustments, and closing entries. 路 Assists with preparing grant invoices and reporting. 路 Other reconciliations and account analysis as requested. 路 Other duties as assigned. QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 路 Ability to perform Essential Duties as outlined below. 路 High School diploma or equivalent. 路 Related work experience in areas such as accounting, book and record keeping, finance, and/or accounts receivable and accounts payable. 路 Proficient in the of use of Microsoft Excel. 路 Ability to read, write, understand, and speak the English language. 路 Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with individuals of the organization and departments of state government. 路 Must demonstrate integrity and can comply with confidentiality concerning client rights and HIPAA regulations. 路 Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy. 路 Possess strong organizational and time management skills. 路 Ability to multi-task. 路 Demonstrates the ability to manage a variety of projects while meeting deadlines. 路 Ability to work with limited direct supervision. 路 Ability to comply with Valley鈥檚 and division/departmental safety procedures. 聽
