If you've worked in food service, restaurants, cafeterias, deli counters, sandwich shops, grocery stores, or customer service, this could be the perfect fit. Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is also a great background—we'll teach the food service or job coaching side if you have the right attitude. No previous job coaching experience is required. Paid training provided. Schedule Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 2:30 PM No evenings No weekends Consistent daytime schedule What You'll Do As a Food Service Job Coach, you'll work alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our busy Beehive Café. Your role is to coach, encourage, and support individuals as they build work skills while helping prepare food and serve customers. Every day is a little different, but responsibilities include: Coach and support individuals with disabilities while they learn food service and workplace skills Prepare sandwiches, soups, salads, beverages, and other café menu items Take customer orders in person and over the phone Assist with food prep, stocking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe kitchen Deliver café orders using agency vehicles Encourage independence while providing redirection and positive support when needed Document daily progress, behaviors, and training activities using a computer Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding participant progress Help create a welcoming, respectful environment for customers and participants We're Looking For Someone Who Enjoys working with people Has a positive attitude and lots of patience Can multitask in a fast-paced café environment Is dependable and enjoys a consistent routine Is comfortable giving encouragement, direction, and constructive coaching Can stay calm and redirect behaviors in a respectful manner Is willing to learn and complete required trainings Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 25 pounds Ability to assist participants with physical tasks as needed Work in both kitchen and community settings Why You'll Love This Job Monday-Friday schedule No late nights Meaningful work with adults eager to learn Paid training Friendly team environment Opportunity to build relationships while making a lasting impact in someone's life If you're looking for more than "just another food service job," this is an opportunity to combine your customer service and food prep skills with work that truly changes lives. QualificationsQualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Previous food service, restaurant, deli, cafeteria, grocery, retail, customer service, caregiving, DSP, or social service experience is helpful but not required Valid driver's license with a good driving record (required) Comfortable driving agency vehicles for local deliveries Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry Ability to write clear daily notes regarding participant progress and behaviors Must successfully complete a criminal background check Must complete agency-paid training, including: CPR/First Aid MANDT (behavior management/de-escalation) Client-specific trainings Other required agency trainings
