POSITION OVERVIEW:

Trinity Services is seeking a Mental Health Professional (MHP) to provide services as part of a Living Room program.  The MHP, in partnership with a Recovery Support Specialist, will respond in person to mental health related crisis visits.  The MHP will play a key role, providing assessment and support, promoting recovery, and working collaboratively with other staff to help people supported to develop an appropriate action plan. 

Salary: $44,500-$51,500

Hours: 3pm-11pm (rotating weekend and holidays)

Location: Grundy County, IL (TBD)

 

NETWORK OR DEPARTMENT: Network 9

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Provides compassionate support to individuals experiencing mental health crisis situations.
  • Facilitates development of an appropriate plan of action that will ensure the safety and comfort of those in crisis
  • Assists participants in identifying strengths, recovery and wellness goals, and barriers; and determining recovery and wellness interventions based on his or her life goals
  • Attends relevant seminars, meetings, and in-service trainings whenever possible and apply this information to current techniques
  • Is aware of and works with the team to take appropriate action with high-risk indicators, seeking guidance from a Qualified Mental Health Professional when needed
  • Conducts outreach and assists in connecting to resources in the community
  • Maintains timely and accurate service documentation with agency standards.
  • Participates in daily upkeep of the Living Room (assist with cleaning, cooking, and laundry upkeep)
  • May need to float to Joliet Living Room if staffing coverage is needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned based on the needs of the program.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to utilize computer for service documentation
  • Teaching skills, non-judgmental personality, and empathic listening skills

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sit, 76-100% of the time
  • Stand, walk, 11-40% of the time
  • Climb stairs, stoop, kneel, bend, reach in front of body, 11-40% of the time
  • Lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ordinary speech and hearing, 76-100% of the time
  • Visual acuity of 20” or less or 20” or more
  • Simultaneous use of Hand, Wrist, Fingers, 76-100% of the time

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Valid driver license / current automobile liability insurance including uninsured motorist coverage
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background checks
