About the role:

Renold is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager o lead and advance safety, environmental, and sustainability initiatives at our Morristown facility. 


This role is responsible for building a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across all environmental, health, and safety programs.  The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, capable of partnering with leadership while actively supporting teams on the production floor.

Function and Scope:

Lead EH&S Programs:

  • Develop and manage comprehensive Environmental, Health & Safety programs using the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) continuous improvement model
  • Implement systems that drive measurable improvements in safety performance and environmental protection

Regulatory Compliance: 

  • Manage federal and state compliance requirements including:
    • OSHA 300 logs
    • EPA permits and environmental reporting
    • Waste manifests and discharge documentation

Setting Safety Culture:

  • Lead the site safety committee and engage frontline employees in proactive hazard identification
  • Partner with supervisors and leadership to drive accountability for safe work practices

Risk Management

  • Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA)
  • Apply the Hierarchy of Controls to reduce workplace hazards
  • Lead incident investigations using Root Cause Analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)

Emergency Preparedness:

  • Maintain emergency response plans and fire prevention strategies
  • Coordinate drills, training exercises, and serve as liaison with emergency responders

Sustainability and ESG: 

  • Monitor Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions
  • Support corporate sustainability reporting and waste reduction initiatives


Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Lead the site EH&S function and safety initiatives
  • Coach and mentor leaders and supervisors in safety best practices
  • Manage EH&S budget including safety equipment and monitoring technology
  • Maintain Stop Work Authority for unsafe conditions and lead corrective actions

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of manufacturing safety experience
    OR
  • Associate degree + 4+ years of safety leadership experience 
  • Or an equal combination of education and experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in:
      • Environmental Health & Safety; Occupational Safety; Engineering preferred but not require 
  • OSHA 30 Required
  • Highly preferred:
    • CSP – Certified Safety Professional
    • CIH – Certified Industrial Hygienist
    • CHMM – Certified Hazardous Materials Manager

Technical Expertise:

  • Regulatory reporting and compliance management
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis
  • Risk assessment programs
  • Process Safety Management (PSM) familiarity
  • Microsoft Office and EHS software platforms
  • Strong communication skills across all organizational levels
  • Ability to translate complex regulations into practical procedures
  • Training and adult learning program development
  • Analytical problem solving and data interpretation

Work Environment: 

This role combines strategic leadership and active plant engagement. 

  • Time spent both on the manufacturing floor and in an office setting
  • Exposure to typical manufacturing conditions including noise and moving equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate the production facility

Candidates must live within commutable distance to Morristown, Tennessee (45 minutes max)
