Senior Physical Therapist
Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System is a 170-bed hospital serving an eight-county region in East Tennessee’s Lakeway Area. The facility includes more than 20 emergency suites, advanced laboratories, radiology, and therapy services, and a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence for mammograms, biopsies, and nurse navigation. The Women’s Center features six modern labor and delivery suites and a secure nursery for newborn care. Position Summary:
Under general supervision, plans, evaluates and implements treatment programs for physical therapy patients. Additional job responsibilities may include: program development, clinical coordination of students, scheduling of supportive staff and coordinating continuing education requirements.
Responsibilities

- Independent clinical practice - evaluation and treatment of patients.
- Participate in orientation checklists and peer evaluations for competency assessment.
- Gives 10 hours education/mentorship time per year. This includes:
- Peer counseling
- Mentorship
- Community lectures/volunteer
- Orientation of new staff to area of specialty
- In-services
- Resource notebook in area of specialty
- Selects at least one student per year, if students available.
- Participates in development and implementation of new and current program policies and procedures.
- Participates in development, implementation and evaluation of standards of care and standards of practice. This includes:
- Clinical Pathway development
- New policy development
- Clinical outcomes analysis and communication to team
- QI/QA
- Assists with continuing education courses to be hosted by Covenant Health.
- Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience:
Two (2) years’ experience with at least one (1) year experience in the specialty area
Licensure Requirement:
Valid Tennessee license. CPR required.
