POSITION SUMMARY:

The Salesforce Data Cloud Architect will work with internal and external stakeholders in the direction of the Director, Business Systems Data and CRM Management to design, implement, and optimize AbleNet's Data Cloud environment. This position will serve as the subject matter expert for Data Cloud functionality, ensuring seamless data integration, harmonization, and activation across AbleNet's technology ecosystem. The Salesforce Data Cloud Architect will collaborate closely with Salesforce and Tableau teams to enable robust analytics and reporting capabilities. This role will be responsible for configuring and maintaining data streams, implementing segmentation strategies, and enabling actionable insights through Data Cloud while ensuring compliance with data governance standards and business requirements.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Design and maintain Data Cloud data models, including data streams, data model objects (DMOs), and calculated insights to support business intelligence and activation needs.
  2. Configure and optimize data ingestion from multiple sources including Salesforce CRM, external databases, APIs, and third-party applications into Data Cloud.
  3. Implement and manage identity resolution strategies to create unified customer profiles and ensure accurate data matching across disparate data sources.
  4. Build and maintain segments, metrics, and activation targets to enable personalized customer engagement and marketing automation initiatives.
  5. Collaborate with stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Service, Analytics, Salesforce, and Tableau teams to understand data requirements and translate business needs into Data Cloud solutions.
  6. Partner with Tableau developers and analysts to ensure Data Cloud outputs are optimized for visualization and reporting, including establishing appropriate data connections and refresh schedules.
  7. Monitor data quality, troubleshoot data pipeline issues, and resolve data synchronization challenges to ensure continuous data flow and reliability across Salesforce and Tableau environments.
  8. Develop and maintain technical documentation for Data Cloud configurations, data mappings, integration processes, and data outputs for downstream consumption.
  9. Stay current with Data Cloud releases, features, and best practices, and recommend enhancements to maximize platform value and business outcomes.
  10. Partner with the CRM Data Analytics team to ensure alignment between Data Cloud implementations and broader Salesforce data management strategies.
  11. Support data governance initiatives by implementing appropriate data security, privacy controls, and compliance measures within Data Cloud.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

CORE COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

  1. Must have deep expertise in Salesforce Data Cloud architecture, configuration, and best practices
  2. Must be able to design and implement complex data integration solutions across multiple systems
  3. Must have strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and identity resolution concepts
  4. Must be able to translate business requirements into technical Data Cloud configurations
  5. Must be able to work collaboratively with ERP, Salesforce, eCommerce, Analytics, Tableau, and Marketing stakeholders
  6. Must have experience working with business intelligence and data visualization teams to enable effective reporting
  7. Must be able to manage multiple projects/efforts simultaneously with competing priorities
  8. Must have exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical data issues independently
  9. Must have high attention to detail and commitment to data quality standards
  10. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  11. Must be able to work with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions
  12. Must be self-motivated with ability to start tasks with minimal guidance and overcome challenges as encountered
  13. Must have high level of understanding as it relates to escalation of issues to leadership

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, data science, or other relevant field
  • 4-6 years of related experience in Salesforce administration, data integration, or analytics


Required software experience:

  • Salesforce Data Cloud (required)
  • Salesforce CRM (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and/or Marketing Cloud)
  • Data integration and ETL tools
  • SQL and data querying languages
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)


Preferred software experience:

  • Tableau or other business intelligence/data visualization platforms
  • Experience with data preparation for analytics and reporting


Preferred certifications:

  • Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant
  • Salesforce Administrator or Advanced Administrator
  • Other Salesforce certifications related to data and analytics

Physical, Time, Presence & Other Requirements

Physical: 

 Internal Office Environment – Requires regular sitting or standing at a desk, consistent computer keyboarding and mouse use, and the ability to perform routine office tasks in a professional office setting.

Time:

 Full-Time, exempt employees work an average of 40 hours per week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.

Presence: 

 Fully Remote - onsite presence is not expected/will be minimal

Travel:

Minimal (5%) - potential for travel 1-2 times annually for onsite visits or trainings
