Pay $28.91 an hour

Evening route, home daily

Average 300 miles per days, 1500 miles per week

5 days a week

Tuesday and Saturday off weekly

Start time 5:00pm

Indianapolis/Cincinnati dedicated route

PURPOSE:

This document serves as a guide to the key functions of the transport drivers at Klosterman Baking Company.

SUMMARY:

The Transport Driver is responsible for the day-to-day large deliveries and directed to comply with all laws, policies, and standards governing food safety. Transport Drivers are obligated to report all food safety issues that may occur.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Must maintain a valid Class A – CDL license.

•    Must not acquire more than three moving violations in three years.

•    Must meet all Department of Transportation guidelines.

•    Must be able to back trailers in and out of docks.

•    Must be honest, respectful of others, and calm and patient in the face of adversity.

•    Must accurately track and record hours and complete required driving logs.

•    Must keep a record of fuel and truck repair purchases.

•    Must have good attendance.

•    Must be available to work overtime when needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The transport driver is responsible for the day-to-day large deliveries where directed. 

•    Drives trailer promptly with all safety policies in mind. 

•    Handle product with care while traveling to and from locations. 

•    Maintain and execute shipping initiatives while abiding by Department of Transportation regulations. 

•    Must complete all required JJ Keller training for transport drivers.

•    Picks up and drops a trailer as directed. 

•    Ensure delivery of product that is:

o    Maintaining the same quality as it was received.

o    On time 

•    Initiate a recovery policy for:

o    Customer complaints

o    Vehicle accident

o    Product Shortage

•    Follow the following Company-wide initiatives.

o    Food Safety

o    Employee Safety

o    Food Quality

o    Priority customer service

o    On-time deliveries

•    Responsible for processes contained in the Food Safety Policy

•    Provides Warehouse Manager with information relating to delays of delivery, issues with the trailer and/or product.

•    Maintains driver license, medical certificate, and physical. 

•    Due to the importance of product delivery and customer satisfaction, the transport position may be called in at any time.

•    The transport driver will operate at all destinations with the company goals of safe, quality food top of mind while achieving the delivery goals of Klosterman Baking Company.
