The Financial & Micro Business Coach is responsible for delivering financial capability and micro-business development services that promote financial stability, asset building, and economic opportunity for individuals, families, and small business owners throughout Vermont.
Position: Capstone is looking for a Financial & Micro Business coach for our Morrisville, VT location. This position provides financial education workshops and individualized coaching on budgeting, bill payment, credit improvement, debt reduction, student loans, savings strategies, and other personal finance topics. The Financial & Micro Business Coach also provides technical assistance and business counseling to start-up and expand businesses, including business planning, referrals to supportive services, advocacy, and training for current and aspiring low-to moderate-income entrepreneurs.
Qualifications:
- B.A. or higher degree, preferably in community organizing, community development. personal finance management, planning or human services; or a AA and nationally recognized accreditation in Financial Counseling or Financial Coaching; or a comparable combination of relevant work experience and training.
- 3+ years' in experience in personal finance management, personal finance coaching, and credit building, including demonstrated competency and sensitivity in working with low-income individuals and families seeking to become economically self-sufficient.
- 4 years' experience in small business development or management, with experience owning a business or being self-employed referred.
- Basic bookkeeping or accounting experience or experience managing a budget.
- Experience in group facilitation
- Experience in marketing and public relations
