SUMMARY: Test and repair MultiTech products returned by customers & distributors. Communicate non-standard problems to Repairs Manager and/or Repairs Administrator.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Test and repair returned products, interacting with customers via ticket portal/phone as needed.
  • Final test product per written final test instructions at acceptable quantity level with 100% quality.
  • Troubleshoot circuit boards and repair failed units down to component level.
  • Enter defect data into appropriate defect database.
  • Work as a team member or individually as required.
  • Ability to solder and desolder printed circuit assemblies.
  • Adhere to the quality system standards pertaining to the job.  
  • Adhere to ESD requirements and safety rules.
  • Produce high quality repairs to products to exceed customer expectations.
  • Follows MultiTech rules and policies.  
  • Clean and maintain work area.  
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Good computer skills (Windows), ERP and Document Control System experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents/electronic schematics/mechanical assembly drawings and write routine reports in English.  
  • Manual dexterity required for light assembly, operating machinery and computers.

 

 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Two-year degree in Electronics or equivalent.
  • One to three months related experience and/or training.
  • Knowledge of Lean Principles.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Lifting requirements up to 40 pounds
  • Requires standing, sitting, and walking for periods of time
  • Use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

There is also access to a manufacturing environment.  Moderate noise level.  Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety glasses, hearing protection, wrist and shoe straps, and ESD smock.  Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted.  No food allowed in the manufacturing area.  No cell phone use allowed in manufacturing area unless approved by management.
