Job Description for the Combo I&R Technician

The Combo I&R Technician (Copper/Fiber) position is in Mt. Airy/N. Wilkesboro, North Carolina and is full-time. The primary function is to install DSL internet services over copper facilities (Tip and Ring), providing world class quality, and product education for residential and commercial customers. We are the prime in this market.

Role and Responsibilities for the Combo I&R Technician

• Installation, maintenance, and repairing of Fiber and/or Copper systems for residential and commercial customers.
• Ensuring adequate performance of internet, phone and if applicable, television services
• Complete pre-install work order and post-install service verification and customer education to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Place aerial or buried Fiber and/or Copper drop wire and install interior/exterior wiring.
• Observe all safety rules and OSHA regulations.
• Able to work at heights by using/setting up various types of ladders.
• Able to work in tight spaces.
• Teamwork - Assist other technicians in the performance of their duties when requested.
• Must convey a positive and professional appearance and demeanor when communicating the company's products and services to our customers.
• Have an ability to adapt to new processes and new information frequently.
• Use internal systems for work order notation and time keeping.
• Maintain minimum acceptable metrics with Repeats, Productivity, NPS and Completions.

Qualifications and Education Requirements for the Combo I&R Technician

• MUST HAVE ONX-580 or HST-3000 and all REQUIRED tools.
• Fiber optic internet and home phone service experience with knowledge of Copper plant and premise wiring is required.
• Knowledge of Copper plant Color Code is required.
• Must have own truck, van, or SUV with a ladder rack.
• Able to lift up to 80lbs unassisted.
• Android smartphone and Laptop (no Chromebook) are required.
• Microsoft Excel
• Must have personal protective equipment (PPE). Including, but not limited to: lace up steel toe boots with a defined ½ heel, hard hat, reflective safety vest, a fall resistor, and safety cones.
• Effective communication skills and ability to multi-task.

Compensation

The pay is production based. Rates will be provided upon resume submission.
