Position Overview
Great Lakes Animal Hospital is seeking a friendly, organized, and service-driven Client Service Representative (CSR) to join our team. As the first and last point of contact for our clients, this role is essential in creating a welcoming, efficient, and compassionate experience for both pets and their owners. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly, and is passionate about delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression
  • Manage incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and triage client inquiries appropriately
  • Check clients in and out, ensuring accuracy of patient information and services rendered
  • Process payments, provide estimates, and discuss financial policies with confidence and clarity
  • Maintain accurate medical records and client communications in the practice management system
  • Coordinate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Educate clients on hospital services, wellness plans, and preventative care recommendations
  • Handle difficult or emotional situations with empathy and professionalism
  • Keep the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming at all times

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous customer service experience required; veterinary or medical office experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Basic computer proficiency; experience with veterinary software is a plus

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology
  • Experience handling high call volumes and scheduling in a fast-paced setting
  • Comfort discussing finances and treatment estimates with clients

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Fast-paced, team-oriented veterinary hospital setting
  • May include evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and interact with animals of all sizes and temperaments
