Job Summary
We are looking for an Automotive Technician to join our team at Jenkins Car Care, an independent, family-owned repair shop in Cedar Hill, TN. This isn't a dealership — no corporate red tape, no upsell quotas, just quality repair work in a comfortable, air-conditioned shop that pays like the city without the city commute.
We're a growing company with plans to expand to multiple locations across Middle Tennessee, which means real opportunity for techs who want to grow with us — not just punch a clock.
As an Automotive Technician, you'll diagnose and repair vehicles using modern shop management tools (we run on Tekmetric) and stay sharp on the latest vehicle systems. We'll help fund that growth — paid training and ASE cert bonuses are part of how we invest in you.
If you've got a "never give up" attitude and are willing to problem-solve until you find the best fix for the customer, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Use diagnostic tools and expertise to evaluate vehicle malfunction codes
- Maintain accurate repair status and documentation in Tekmetric
- Carry out routine maintenance — tire rotations, oil changes, brake pad replacements
- Conduct in-depth inspections across all vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, and brakes
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Convey vehicle repair information to customers and service writers clearly and concisely
Qualifications
- ASE certifications preferred (we'll help fund additional certs once you're on board)
- 5+ years of experience as an automotive technician, or equivalent hands-on training
- Solid understanding of vehicle systems — engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, and diagnostics
- Own set of hand tools (tool allowance provided to help you build out further)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to read and interpret diagnostic codes and technical repair manuals
- Strong communication skills — comfortable explaining repair needs to service writers and customers
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment
- A "never give up" mindset when it comes to solving tough diagnostic problems
