Job Description:

Microchip Technology Inc. is a market leader in designing, manufacturing, and marketing Frequency Control, Sensor, and Hybrid Product solutions using the latest cutting-edge techniques. For over 70 years, the Mount Holly Springs facility has provided solutions for Satellite Constellations, Deep Space Exploration Missions, Military Systems, GPS, Communication Networks, and much more. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in electronic assembly, testing, and troubleshooting, along with an Associate Degree in Electrical Circuitry, Electronics Technology, or a related technical field or at least 10+ years of related experience.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair PCBAs, modules, oscillators, and electronic assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems to the component and circuit level.
  • Diagnose issues involving frequency stability, phase noise, waveform, amplitude, power consumption, and circuit performance.
  • Use oscilloscopes, frequency counters, spectrum/network analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators.
  • Verify products against engineering specifications, test procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Perform functional, environmental, performance, tuning, alignment, and calibration testing.
  • Document test results, failures, troubleshooting, nonconformances, and corrective actions.
  • Partner with Engineering, Production, and Quality to resolve issues and improve product reliability.
  • Support root-cause analysis and recommend improvements to test procedures, fixtures, and processes.
  • Follow ESD, safety, quality, and production requirements.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in electronic testing, troubleshooting, and assembly; oscillator, RF, frequency-control, or PCBA experience preferred.
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field, or 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Strong knowledge of circuit theory, analog electronics, RF principles, and oscillator operation.
  • Proven component- and circuit-level troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience using standard and advanced electronic test equipment.
  • Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, work instructions, and test specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail, precision, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with RF testing, frequency stability, phase noise, and signal integrity.
  • Soldering, rework, and electronic assembly experience.
  • Knowledge of ESD practices and IPC workmanship standards.
  • Experience with prototype/development builds and production troubleshooting.
  • Experience with temperature testing, environmental stress screening, or burn-in testing.
  • Ability to identify trends and recommend process improvements using test data.

Schedule:

  • M-F, 7am-3:30pm
