Job Summary: 聽The Electro-Mechanical Technician 1 (EM Tech 1) will repair, service and install production equipment, machinery and related facility devices; maintain a variety of records; participate in special projects; and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility. Essential activities will include Preventative Maintenance (PM) repairs and servicing of equipment. The EM Tech 1 will be responsible for accurately installing, operating and cleaning these machines as needed, as well as recording maintenance data and logs as required by Standard Operating Procedures (SOP鈥檚), supplemented by prompt and real-time communication.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Proficiently repairs, replaces, rebuilds and maintains, in accordance with the diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and manufacturer鈥檚 specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, motors, pneumatic tools, belts, fans, gaps, mechanical seals, conveyor systems and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools and precision-measuring and testing instruments. 聽
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Properly performs preventive maintenance.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Maintains an awareness of equipment operation, especially excessive heat, vibration, and noise, reporting malfunctions, hazards or wear to supervisor. 聽
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Performs conveyor maintenance and repair, properly replacing bearings, chains and sprockets without assistance.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Performs equipment set-ups and change-overs as required without assistance.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools. 聽
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Repairs or replaces defective parts. 聽Installs special functional and structural parts in devices as needed. May repair electrical equipment as needed and as skills allow.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Successfully performs all routine tasks and applies skills and experience to solve non-routine mechanical and process issues.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Assists higher level Technicians with troubleshooting and repair.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Proficiently lubricates and cleans parts. 聽Start devices to test their performance.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Accurately completes requisition forms as needed to order parts to keep the Production Lines in good general repair and to meet the GMP standards. 聽Required to maintain logs and records as instructed.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Responsible for checking voltage, fuses and resistance with the use of a Volt-Ohm-Meter (VOM).
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Competently uses and understands technical documents, including but not limited to: Maintenance Manuals, Schematics, Procedures, Repair Documents, etc.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Accurately and thoroughly completes and troubleshoots printer setup and code changes.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Correctly and efficiently uses the CMMS system as needed without assistance to maintain all repair and preventative maintenance (PM) records.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Observes and performs 5S in all areas.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Other duties, as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Associate degree or High school diploma with 2 - 5 years of experience in automated equipment.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Regular and reliable attendance required.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Must have the ability and knowledge of how to wire motors different voltages, read Electrical Schematics, understand bearing, gearboxes, conveyors and valves, lubrication methods, and use of tools and power tools.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities change quickly.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Team oriented, but able to work independently with minimal supervision.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Ability to work a flexible schedule.

路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Considerable knowledge and experience in troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating on-stream process analytical instrumentation.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Have knowledge of basic functioning of servo motors.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Sill in the use of tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment peculiar to the repair and maintenance of treatment plant equipment is required.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Ability to communicate well within multiple associate levels, from general labor to management.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Must have the ability and knowledge of how to wire motors different voltages, read Electrical Schematics, understand bearing, gearboxes, conveyors and valves, lubrication methods, and use of tools and power tools.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Skill and proficiency in computer work processing programs.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Ability to learn and use the company鈥檚 computer systems as well as Microsoft applications.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽May be designated to operate a machine as required.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Ability and willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Working knowledge of PLC鈥檚 including basic ladder logic concepts, installation, setup troubleshooting, and repair.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Basic knowledge of Robotics and vision systems.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Basic understanding of Lean Principles.
Working Environment: 聽
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The Electro-Mechanical Technician 1 (EMT-1) is required to work both in an office environment and on the production floor. While performing the duties of this job, the associate frequently will be exposed to outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme heat and/or cold. 聽The associate frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in high precarious places, and has to the risk of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of electrical shock. 聽 The incumbent will be exposed to loud noises from production equipment and thus will be required to wear PPE. 聽 The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but may be high at times due to production and mechanical equipment noise.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be performed by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle, or feel objects, equipment, or controls; reach with hands and arms; see, talk and /or hear. The associate frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, sit, crouch, or crawl. The associate will frequently travel up and down stairs and other uneven work surfaces. The associate is occasionally required to taste, touch or smell.
Associates must be able to lift, carry, push and/or pull, and balance up to 100 pounds.
