Job Summary: The IT Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for partnering with Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehousing, Customer Service, and Manufacturing teams to support and drive the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of supply chain technology solutions.

This position will be a key contributor to Bowman's supply chain transformation initiatives, helping evaluate, implement, and support new systems that improve inventory visibility, warehouse efficiency, transportation effectiveness, and overall supply chain performance.

The ideal candidate combines strong supply chain process knowledge with technology expertise, and is passionate about helping organizations leverage digital capabilities to support growth and operational excellence.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted IT partner to Supply Chain, Logistics, Distribution, and Manufacturing leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, visibility, scalability, and customer service through technology solutions.
  • Participate in supply chain transformation initiatives and digital roadmap planning.

Supply Chain Systems Transformation

  • Support the evaluation, selection, implementation, and deployment of new supply chain applications, including:
    • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
    • Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
    • Logistics and Distribution Solutions
    • Supply Chain Planning Systems
  • Participate in system evaluations, requirements gathering, solution design, testing, training, and go-live activities.
  • Work closely with implementation partners and software vendors throughout project lifecycles.
  • Assist in change management and user adoption efforts.

Business Process Analysis

  • Analyze current-state business processes and recommend future-state improvements.
  • Document business requirements, workflows, functional specifications, and process maps. Facilitate workshops to identify operational challenges and opportunities.
  • Ensure the new solutions support business growth objectives, and operational best practices.

Warehouse and Distribution Systems

  • Support systems utilized across Bowman’s distributed warehousing network for finished goods storage and customer order fulfillment.
  • Support warehouse teams in optimizing processes.
  • Ensure systems provide accurate inventory visibility and product traceability.
  • Support integration between warehouse operations and enterprise business systems.

Logistics and Transportation Systems

  • Support transportation planning, carrier management, shipment execution, freight visibility, and delivery tracking solutions.
  • Collaborate with logistics teams to improve transportation efficiency and customer service performance.
  • Support EDI and system integration with logistics providers, carriers, and customers.
  • Assist in analyzing transportation metrics and identifying opportunities for cost and service improvements.

Data, Reporting, and Analytics

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI and other reporting tools.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support data governance initiatives and ensure data integrity across supply chain systems.
  • Provide actionable insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.

Application Support and Continuous Improvement

  • Provide day-to-day support for supply chain applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in partnership with vendors and internal teams.
  • Manage system enhancements, upgrades, testing, and documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and user satisfaction.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting supply chain, warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or ERP systems.
  • Experience participating in enterprise software implementations or business transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and distribution processes.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technology solutions.

Preferred

  • Experience with:
    • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
    • Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
    • Supply Chain Planning Systems
    • SAP or other ERP solutions
  • Experience in manufacturing, food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or distribution environments.
  • Knowledge of EDI, integrations, APIs, and data management principles.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, or business analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with project management and change management methodologies.

 

Working Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a teammate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Considerable time will be spent working within an office environment as well as on the production floor. The incumbent will be exposed to long periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Exposure to loud noises from production equipment and moving mechanical parts will also occur.
