Asphalt-Roller Operator B

Description:

Employee will be responsible for operating breakdown rollers to compact asphalt layers. This position requires safe equipment operation and coordination with the paving crew. Employee will be reliable, safety-focused, and work well in a team environment.

Overview of Responsibilities:

• Operates breakdown roller to achieve initial compaction of hot-mix asphalt
• Follows established rolling patterns for uniform density
• Performs daily pre-trip inspections and routine maintenance
• Coordinates with paver and finish roller operators
• Maintains proper speed and overlap to prevent damage
• Participates in daily safety meetings
• Assists with general labor tasks when needed
• Keeps roller and work area clean

Qualifications:

• Some roller or heavy-equipment experience (Breakdown Roller focus)
• Knowledge of asphalt compaction techniques
• Reliable transportation
• Safety awareness and attention to detail
• Ability to work 40-65 hours/week
• Physical ability to climb on/off equipment
