Milacron is looking for a CNC VTL Machine Operator to join our team in Mt. Orab, Ohio (1st Shift). In this position, you will be responsible for operating CNC Vertical Turning Lathes, interpreting CNC programs and blueprints, performing machine setups, building tooling, and supporting manufacturing operations to ensure quality and productivity standards are met.
Work You’ll Do:
  • Operate and monitor CNC Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL) to produce quality machined components.
  • Read, interpret, and understand CNC programs and engineering blueprints.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and maintain quality standards.
  • Perform machine setups, tooling changes, and tooling assembly as required.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments within established guidelines.
  • Support additional machining operations during downtime, including CNC mills, surface grinders, and cutoff saws.
  • Assist with setup activities and tooling assembly across the department.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and departmental goals.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CNC machining experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints required.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools required.
  • Ability to perform machine setups and build tooling required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience operating CNC Vertical Turning Lathes preferred.
  • Experience with CNC mills, surface grinders, and cutoff saws preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use hands regularly throughout the workday.
  • Ability to reach, handle, and manipulate tools and equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally crouch and work in varying positions.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to see at both near and far distances for machine operation and inspection activities.
