Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Dietary Coordinator to join our team and support the Operations Director in managing kitchen operations, meal planning, and inventory. This role combines leadership, culinary skill, and teamwork to ensure residents receive nutritious, well-balanced meals while maintaining a safe and efficient kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead menu planning and maintain inventory of food and ingredients.
- Ensure proper rotation of dry stock, meats, and vegetables to minimize waste.
- Oversee meal preparation, portioning, and serving according to dietary guidelines and departmental standards.
- Prepare, assemble, and portion desserts, fruits, breads, and beverages.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational functionality of kitchen and cafeteria equipment.
- Train, supervise, and support staff and residents assisting in kitchen duties.
- Lead life skills groups with residents and document in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Follow proper procedures for cleaning, sanitation, and hazardous chemical disposal.
- Respond to emergency codes and assist in departmental in-service training.
- Assist with orientation and training of new employees and adapt to other department needs as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 6 months of full-time experience in food preparation or service in a cafeteria, hospital, nursing home, school, or restaurant.
- Successful completion of local and national criminal background checks, including fingerprinting.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Required Certifications:
- SERVSafe Manager Certification
- Food Handlers Permit
- Active CDCA (Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant)
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.

- Attention to detail in food preparation, safety, and sanitation.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and use of hands.
- Occasional sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
- Ability to lift/move up to 10 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Good vision, including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
