Position Summary:
The Welder is responsible for welding of fabricated parts to print and specifications. Prepare steel, cast iron, aluminum and stainless-steel material and parts for weld.
Work You'll Do:
- Prepare steel parts for arc, gas or mig welding. Weld materials of limited thickness where finished weld is not stressed.
- Recommend improvements for area products and processes.
- Job report labor correctly and in a timely manner.
- Practice good communication and interact professionally in the plant.
- Produce quality work in the time frame that consistently meets or exceeds the expectation of Team Lead and Group Lead.
- Adhere to the 5-S standards in the work area.
- Communicate any discrepancies or errors on prints, materials list etc.
- Interact with the teams on second and third shift to obtain positive results on productivity and quality.
- Additional duties as specified by Assembly Lead. Produce and maintain consistent quality of work, dress, and grind parts after welding.
- Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress, emergency situation, priority changes, or new assignments.
- Work safely and in an environmentally responsible manner, practice good communications. Recommend improvements for area products and processes.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of related experience or training.
- High School diploma or equivalent technical school training.
- Organization skills
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress / emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments.
- Ability to demonstrate personal leadership; actively participate in or lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ability to read/comprehend blueprints/diagrams.
- Basic computer skills
