Lower Elementary Lead Teacher (Grades 1–3)

Founded in 2003, East Cooper Montessori Charter School (ECMCS) is a thriving public Montessori community serving approximately 420 students from age 3 through 8th grade. Set on a peaceful nine-acre campus in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, our nearly 60,000 square feet of learning spaces are designed to support curiosity, creativity, and meaningful work.

The Role: Lower Elementary Lead Teacher (Grades 1–3)

The Lower Elementary years are magical-and essential. As a Lead Teacher, you'll guide a multi-age Montessori classroom where curiosity deepens, confidence grows, and independence takes root.

With the support of an Instructional Assistant, you will design and implement an authentic Montessori Lower Elementary curriculum that balances strong academic foundations with social-emotional growth. You'll build meaningful relationships with students and families, collaborate closely with colleagues, and continue your own Montessori journey through ongoing professional learning.

This role is ideal for an educator who understands that Grades 1–3 are not just about skills-but about shaping how children see themselves as learners.

Who We're Hoping to Meet

• Montessori Lower Elementary certified (or open to sponsored training)

• Certified in South Carolina Elementary Education, or eligible for certification
