We are seeking an Advanced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic for our Mt. Pleasant, MI location. The ideal candidate will have strong experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty diesel equipment and will take pride in producing organized, efficient, and high-quality work. This individual should be comfortable handling complex diagnostics, supporting overall shop workflow, and serving as a dependable technical resource within the team.


This position plays a critical role within our organization and offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals who take pride in delivering high-quality work and keeping our customers on the road.  Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and performance-related issues in heavy-duty diesel equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance services and complete thorough inspections
  • Troubleshoot and repair fuel systems, hydraulic systems, transmissions, driveline components, brakes, clutches, and trailers
  • Utilize diagnostic software, technical manuals, and schematics to accurately identify and resolve issues
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and organized repair documentation
  • Support efficient shop workflow by communicating repair status, prioritizing tasks effectively, and helping maintain productivity standards
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including tools, equipment, and service bays
  • Work collaboratively with team members while helping promote quality workmanship and consistent repair standards
  • Serve as a positive and reliable presence within the shop by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, integrity, and a strong work ethic
  • Assist less experienced technicians when needed and contribute to a team-oriented environment

Requirements

 Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic or similar role
  • Strong experience with driveline systems, trailers, brakes, clutches, and diesel engine repair
  • Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
  • Proficient with diagnostic tools, software, and repair equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair procedures
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage workflow and maintain accurate documentation
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL and/or industry certifications preferred
