School Counselor (Full-Time, K–8)

East Cooper Montessori Charter School (ECMCS) is seeking a dynamic, student-centered School Counselor to join our collaborative counseling team. This full-time position serves a K–8 student population of 450 alongside a second counselor and includes leadership of schoolwide social-emotional learning initiatives.

This role is ideal for a counselor who is proactive, relational, organized, and passionate about supporting the whole child in a mission-driven school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide short-term, solution-focused counseling for students
• Lead and support schoolwide SEL programming and initiatives
• Deliver classroom guidance lessons aligned to ASCA standards
• Support crisis response, risk assessments, and student interventions
• Collaborate with administration, MTSS, IPS, and support teams
• Facilitate attendance/truancy and family support meetings
• Partner with teachers to strengthen classroom social-emotional supports
• Provide staff training related to student wellness and behavior supports
• Conduct Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) meetings with middle school students

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in School Counseling
• School counseling certification/licensure preferred
• Experience with elementary and/or middle school students preferred
