Compensation: $21 - $25 per hour, depending on experience

Overview
EF Academy is seeking a caring, organized, and medically knowledgeable Health Center Coordinator to support the School Nurse in providing health services to our diverse student population.
Working under the direction of the School Nurse, the Health Center Coordinator will assist with the initial triage and assessment of students, provide basic first aid, support daily health office operations, and manage important administrative responsibilities. The position will work closely with residential staff to coordinate student medical appointments, transportation, and follow-up care.
The ideal candidate will be compassionate, dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working with adolescents, and able to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced school environment.
Professional Qualifications
Required:
● Medical Assistant certification or equivalent medical training/experience preferred.
● Experience in a medical, healthcare, school, pediatric, or adolescent setting.
● Knowledge of basic medical terminology, first aid, vital signs, and patient assessment.
● Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills.
● Ability to recognize when a student's condition requires escalation to a licensed healthcare professional.
● Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries.
● Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
● Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural and international backgrounds.
Preferred:
● Experience in a boarding school, residential school, pediatric, adolescent, or college health setting.
● Experience with electronic medical records or student information systems.
● Experience coordinating medical appointments and transportation.

Key Role Responsibilities
Student Health & Triage
● Serve as an initial point of contact for students reporting illness, injury, or other health concerns.
● Conduct basic assessments, obtain vital signs, and gather relevant health information under the direction of the School Nurse.
● Recognize situations requiring immediate attention and promptly escalate concerns to the School Nurse or emergency services as appropriate.
● Provide basic first aid and support for minor illnesses and injuries within the scope of training and school protocols.
● Assist with student monitoring, medication procedures, and other health office responsibilities as directed by the School Nurse.
● Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked health office.
Health Records & Administration
● Maintain accurate and confidential student health records and documentation.
● Update student attendance and health-related information in school information systems.
● Monitor required health documentation, including physicals, immunizations, medications, allergies, and other medical forms.
● Assist with communication between Health Services, students, families, faculty, residential staff, and outside healthcare providers.
● Prepare reports and documentation as requested by the School Nurse or school administration.
Medical Appointments & Transportation
● Schedule medical, dental, specialist, urgent care, and other healthcare appointments.
● Coordinate appointment details and transportation with residential staff.
● Maintain records of appointments, referrals, and follow-up care.
● Assist students in understanding and following medical recommendations and appointment schedules.
Emergency & Residential Support
● Follow school emergency response and health protocols and assist during medical emergencies and campus emergencies.
● Maintain appropriate first-aid supplies and emergency medical equipment.
● Work closely with residential staff to support students who are ill, injured, or recovering from medical treatment.
● Participate in health, wellness, safety, and emergency preparedness initiatives as appropriate.
Compensation & Working Environment
● $21 - $25 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications
● Full-time position
● On-campus housing may be available for interested candidates

Emergency & Residential Support
● This is a full-time position
● Requires Monday - Friday, with flexibility to support occasional after-hours health needs
