We’re expanding our 2nd shift operations and are looking for a Quality Engineer to support our commitment to delivering high-quality electronic and electromechanical products. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement, ensuring compliance, and supporting production teams in maintaining the highest quality standards.
Job Summary
The Quality Engineer establishes and plans quality requirements from quotation through program launch, ensuring effective quality control processes are implemented and maintained. This role leads root cause analysis, drives corrective actions, and partners cross-functionally to support customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all contractual and regulatory quality requirements are clearly defined and communicated
- Provide direction and support for receiving, in-process, and final inspection activities
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions for quality issues
- Collaborate with sales, purchasing, production, and program management to meet customer quality expectations
- Interface with suppliers to resolve material quality issues and prevent recurrence
- Support and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Communicate directly with customers regarding quality concerns and resolutions
- Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards
- Document and report quality issues, trends, and analysis results
- Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the organization
Qualifications & Skills
- Knowledge of electromechanical systems and manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with SMT, selective soldering, and wave soldering
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and routers
- Experience with measurement tools and calibration equipment
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills
- Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, and ESD standards
- Understanding of GD&T principles
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field OR
- Associate degree/certification with 2+ years of relevant experience OR
- High school diploma with 4+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in electromechanical or PCB manufacturing preferred
- Experience with ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 preferred
- Data analysis and quality trending experience a plus
