We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team and contribute to the accuracy, integrity, and growth of our financial operations.

Position Overview

The Senior Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of a fast-paced commercial finance environment. This individual will bring a strong foundation in GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger management, with the ability to operate independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization.

Core Competencies

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including balance sheet and income statement analysis, internal controls, and financial reporting standards
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLookups, and data filtering for financial analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex accounting and financial issues within a dynamic commercial finance environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a disciplined approach to prioritization, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and management levels

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end close processes, including general ledger analysis, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Support daily accounting operations and ensure timely completion of all month-end deliverables
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions in accordance with company policies and GAAP standards
  • Prepare and deliver financial reports, budget analyses, revenue summaries, and variance reporting for management review
  • Conduct cash flow analysis and develop short- and long-term forecasting to support business planning and liquidity management

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related field required
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting, industry accounting, or commercial finance/consulting
  • Demonstrated experience with month-end close, general ledger analysis, and financial statement preparation
  • QuickBooks expertise required; experience with factoring or ABL software is a strong plus
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Excel PivotTables and VLookups, GAAP application, and full-cycle accounting functions
  • CPA designation preferred; candidates actively pursuing licensure will also be considered
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
