Why Drivers Stay Here
"Take care of your employees and they will take care of your business."
We actually mean it, and our benefits are where you can see it:
- We pay 100% of your medical and dental premiums. Not a percentage. All of it.
- We pay 100% of your L&I rates — that's money that stays in your pocket instead of coming out of your check.
- You're home every night. Runs start and end in Mount Vernon.
If you're tired of being a truck number at a company that treats drivers as interchangeable, keep reading.
The Job
You'll join our roll-off crew hauling construction and demolition debris, wood, concrete, metal, and cardboard between customer sites and our Mount Vernon recycling park.
What your day looks like:
- Report to our Mount Vernon facility off Highway 20 to start and end your shift
- Deliver, place, and retrieve roll-off boxes at residential, commercial, and industrial job sites
- Dispatches generally stay within the I-5 corridor
- Pre- and post-trip inspections, DOT compliance, and accurate logs
- Work directly with customers on placement and access — you're the face of the company on site
Pay: $29.00 per hour, and a $2.00 safety bonus after your first quarter of employment.
What You Need
Required:
- Valid Class A CDLÂ
- Current DOT medical card
- Good driving record — we run an MVR and every single person we hire for a driver role.
- Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen and participate in ongoing random testing
- Comfortable working outdoors in Northwest weather year-round
Preferred, but we'll train the right person:
- Roll-off experience
- Experience on job sites or in construction, demolition, or waste hauling
- Familiarity with Skagit, Whatcom, Island, and Snohomish county roads
Physical requirements: Frequent climbing in and out of the cab, tarping loads, pulling pins, lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights on the truck bedÂ
What actually makes someone good at this job: You can solve a problem in a tight driveway without calling dispatch three times. You slow down when something doesn't look right. A customer having a bad day doesn't ruin yours.

Lautenbach Recycling has been serving Skagit, Whatcom, Island, and Snohomish counties for over 35 years. We started in 1991 with a borrowed cattle trailer and a pickup truck. Today we run many different types of trucks and operate the Lautenbach Recycle Park in Mount Vernon, the Bakerview Road facility in Whatcom County, and the San Juan County Transfer Station.
We built that on hard work, on customer service that people actually notice, and on a crew that operates like a family. We're looking for people who want more than a job.
A few things we're proud of:
- Recycling Certification Institute (RCI) certifiedÂ
- Modern fleet with Verizon Connect GPS
- We mean it about work-life balance. Home every night isn't a slogan here, it's the schedule.
