Job Summary:

The Field Supervisor will oversee maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) and other building systems at commercial properties. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Service Manager with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
  • Oversee and manage the maintenance technicians.
  • Performs service calls and scheduled preventive maintenance at commercial properties.
  • Delegates work assignments between themself and maintenance technicians. 
  • Provides on-the-job assistance and training to maintenance technicians, as needed.
  • Meets with the Service Manager daily to build work schedules for the maintenance department. 
  • Evaluates systems or facilities to determine future maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
  • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Develops maintenance procedures and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Assists with departmental budgeting and estimates the costs of specific repair projects.
  • Promotes a positive and uplifting work environment by providing positive feedback and encouragement to maintenance technicians and/or other team members. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • General knowledge or experience in construction and carpentry related trades.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least five years of relevant maintenance or contracting experience required.
  • Technical education or certifications recommended. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be physically able to traverse commercial facilities to diagnose, repair and maintain building systems. Including, but not limited to, climbing ladders to access roofs, working in commercial attic spaces, and utilizing arial lift equipment. 
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
