Community Manager



Location:  The Summit at Hendersonville - Flat Rock, NC





About the Role
NHE is seeking an experienced Community Manager to lead property operations, deliver exceptional resident service, and support the success of the community. This role oversees staff, leasing, marketing, budgeting, resident relations, maintenance, vendor management, compliance, and overall property performance. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, team-oriented, and committed to professional growth.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, coach, and supervise on-site staff.
  • Establish performance expectations and evaluate team productivity.
  • Resolve resident concerns while maintaining high customer service standards.
  • Support leasing, renewals, occupancy goals, and rent optimization.
  • Manage property budgets, expenses, revenue, collections, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure timely collection and deposit of rents, fees, and other income.
  • Review invoices, submit accounting documentation, and manage purchasing.
  • Oversee marketing initiatives to increase occupancy.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure quality property upkeep and prompt service requests.
  • Inspect the community regularly to maintain appearance and operational standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and applicable laws.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least two years of successful apartment management experience preferred.
  • Strong background in customer service, leasing, and marketing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and property management software (Yardi Voyager, Popcard, Payscan, and Rent CafĂ© preferred).
  • Knowledge of apartment management laws, regulations, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
  • Property Manager (PMIC) license required if working in the state of SC; CAM certification preferred.
