Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in vendor management and procurements (procurement of electromechanical and laboratory components), and printed circuit board (PCB) and flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) rework (soldering, de-soldering, crimping, etc.).
  • 5 years of experience in laboratory safety protocols (chemicals, lasers, high voltage, etc.), mechanical metrology (CAD, use of calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, Instron, etc.), and electrical metrolgy (multimeter, O-scope, etc.).
  • Experience coordinating lab construction, permitting, safety and compliance, networking, facilities management, and equipment calibration.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience with fabrication techniques used for rapid prototyping: laser cutting, 3D printing, drill press, band saw, etc.).
  • 5 years of experience with laboratory managment and inventory control (equipment, tools, hardware, etc.).
  • 5 years of experience as a lab technician, with exposure to key lab equipment found in electrical engineering, media, robotic, wireless, power, battery and acoustic labs.
  • 2 years of experience in engineering lab management.
  • Familiarity with Google processes and tools.
  • Excellent technical and invetsigative skills with an understanding of equipment specifications and their relationship to lab infrastructure needs.

In the R&D lab, you design test equipment for prototypes of our machinery and develop the protocols used to scale these tests for the entire global team. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee lab space planning and coordinate build out of new labs including lab layouts, specifications, safety and compliance, electrical, networking, cooling, and construction plans.
  • Organize, audit, and manage a lab environment to ensure high productivity and safety for multiple engineering teams and identify and recommend creative ways to leverage or enhance existing practices.
  • Perform inventory tracking of all electrical lab equipment and create and maintain all maintenance and calibration tracking for all lab equipment.
  • Manage and drive lab expenses for supplies, equipment, and capital expenditures and enforce lab safety and compliance policies.
