Role and Responsibilities 

Store Operations & Guest Experience 

  • Oversee all daily retail functions, including opening and closing procedures, cleanliness, and overall presentation 
  • Deliver warm, helpful, and informed service to guests — creating a welcoming and memorable shopping experience 
  • Maintain a polished, organized, and professional store environment that reflects the ranch’s values and aesthetic 
  • Step in where needed to support team and operations — this is a hands-on, collaborative role 

Merchandising & Buying 

  • Curate and manage product assortment aligned with the ranch’s identity — prioritizing high-quality, regionally relevant goods 
  • Plan seasonal rotations and thematic displays to enhance storytelling and product engagement 
  • Foster and maintain relationships with local and national vendors 
  • Design and maintain creative, visually appealing merchandising that reflects both brand and landscape 

Inventory & Systems Management 

  • Monitor stock levels, product expiration dates and conduct regular inventory audits 
  • Manage product ordering, receiving, tagging, and inventory tracking 
  • Utilize POS and inventory management systems accurately and efficiently (e.g., Lightspeed, Shopify, or similar) 
  • Ensure smooth coordination of product restocking and turnover 

Team Leadership & Training 

  • Hire, train, and supervise a small seasonal team; support performance through regular feedback and coaching 
  • Foster a positive, respectful work environment grounded in clear communication and shared goals 
  • Set clear expectations and lead by example in professionalism, service, and teamwork 

Sales & Performance Oversight 

  • Track daily, weekly, and seasonal sales performance; analyze data to inform buying and inventory decisions 
  • Set and meet sales goals aligned with broader property performance 

Qualifications  

  • Retail management or buying experience, ideally in a boutique or hospitality setting 
  • Strong knowledge of retail operations and visual merchandising 
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment 
  • Familiarity with outdoor lifestyle brands or regional artisans 
  • Passion for hospitality and the guest experience 
  • Proficiency in inventory and point-of-sale software (Lightspeed, Shopify, or similar), cash and card transactions, and closing reports
