Responsible for preparing inventory to be placed on yard; placing inventory on yard; and for final disposition of inventory, as well as all duties assigned.

Starts at $17.00 an hr, Plus great benefits!

Essential Job Duties

  • Remove all fluids, lubricants and components (ie: converters) as required safely and efficiently, and prep the car for setting on yard.
  • Set out cars as assigned.
  • Record information on cars set accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Appropriate paperwork filled out as required.
  • Position works closely with the lift operator to maximize processing.
  • All containers of parts must be stored in a secure area each night.
  • When the container is full, the operator must LABEL and STRETCH WRAP the container.
  • Operator responsible for making sure container is SECURELY stored at shift end.
  • Operator responsible for making sure all appropriate tools are stored securely at shift end.
  • Work with gasoline is potentially hazardous, and every effort must be taken to prevent sparking and flame sources.
  • Slip and trip hazards must be cleaned up immediately to prevent injury.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Not responsible for supervising employees.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Must be able to read and write at a high school level.

Preferred Requirements  

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Prior knowledge of automobiles or mechanics preferred, supplemented by on-the-job training, to learn duties, nature of work performed, procedures, and work methods, to become familiar with the company’s products, locations, machines and equipment, operating methods, and to attain proficiency requirements and to fully assume responsibilities of the job

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic messages communicated orally. May write brief messages and keep simple records.
  • Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
  • Follows standard procedures with no decision-making involved.
  • Uses guidance/guidelines provided by supervisor/manager.
  • Assignments/priorities provided by supervisor/manager.
  • No additional competencies required.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment  

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods.
  • The employee may be exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment. Must be able to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles that may require getting into awkward positions. May regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE). May be exposed to extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
  • Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. On occasion, an employee may be asked to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
