Job DetailsJob Location: Illinois - MT Carmel, IL 62863Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 Salary/yearJob Shift: 1st Shift/ DaysPOSITION:  Product Engineer REPORTS TO:  Engineering Manager JOB SUMMARY The job is a Product Engineer for a leading automotive aftermarket parts manufacturer and supplier. The main responsibility of the position is to design and develop new products that meet the needs of customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in the filtration industry and will be responsible for implementing performance metrics and testing criteria for expanding product lines. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and manufacturing. A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required, along with a strong understanding of media performance metrics and excellent communication and collaboration skills. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Define product specifications and requirements based on customer needs and market trends Develop and execute test plans to validate product designs and ensure that they meet performance requirements Review and approve supplier drawings to ensure compliance with design standards and specifications. Coordinate and manage sample review and approval processes, including physical measurements and testing to validate conformance with approved drawings. Conduct experiments and analyze data to optimize product performance and identify areas for improvement Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, manufacturing, and quality control, to ensure that product designs are feasible and cost-effective Monitor and analyze customer feedback to identify opportunities for product improvements Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and incorporate them into product designs as appropriate Prepare technical reports and documentation to support product development and quality control processes QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field At least 5 years of experience in product engineering, preferably in the automotive aftermarket parts industry Strong knowledge of filtration technology, including media performance metrics such as efficiency, capacity, dirt holding capacity, pressure drop, and service life Experience defining tests and testing criteria to validate product designs Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Employment is contingent upon proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
