Job Description:

The Opportunity

In this role, you will support the reliability of the power grid by overseeing inspection, testing, and verification processes for high‑voltage materials and assembled products. You’ll work across warehouse and assembly environments to ensure that incoming components and outgoing equipment meet defined acceptance criteria, helping maintain the safety and performance of critical grid assets. Your work will bring you into collaboration with engineering, procurement, operations, and supplier partners as you resolve non‑conformities, refine quality practices, and maintain documentation essential to service‑level performance. This position allows you to apply your technical background, problem‑solving abilities, and attention to detail to challenges that directly influence system uptime, customer confidence, and overall grid resilience.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Establish and manage quality control processes and resources to support inspection and verification of incoming materials and outgoing products.

  • Manage and guide quality control technicians, providing training, support, and steady oversight to strengthen technical capabilities and adherence to standards.

  • Maintain documentation of inspection activities, test results, and material disposition while coordinating internal and customer audit activities.

  • Develop and implement standardized inspection criteria, sampling plans, and test methods, including defining acceptance criteria.

  • Support supply chain teams with quality‑related data to monitor supplier performance and collaborate with internal partners and suppliers to address issues.

  • Implement quality processes with operations teams, including non‑conformance management, coaching on problem‑solving methods (such as 8D and RCA), and KPI reporting.

  • Oversee incoming and outgoing inspection programs across warehouse and assembly environments, ensuring accurate record retention.

  • Conduct internal audits, document best practices, and use data trends to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in an Engineering field.

  • Certification or experience with problem‑solving and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Experience managing small teams (approximately 3 direct reports).

  • Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and SMEs across energy, technology, or industrial sectors.

  • Skilled communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.

  • Experience with Quality Management Systems, ISO standards, and auditing.

  • SAP S4/HANA Quality Module experience.
