Job Summary:

The Business Development Representative performs frontline banking functions and promotes the organization in the community for business development, thereby driving branch growth.

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide a complete range of customer services, thoroughly explain available products and services, gather customer information to process new and existing accounts, and open and maintain accounts.
  • Proactively cross-sell UFB products and services based on customer needs.
  • Apply product and procedural knowledge to identify, mitigate and solve customer problems effectively.
  • Perform teller duties.
  • Refer customers to appropriate bank personnel to meet their financial needs.
  • Investigate and correct errors.
  • Input wire transfer requests.
  • Verify money received or sent for deposit in the vault at designated times.
  • Balance vault/branch daily, maintain predefined cash limits.
  • Review and complete various branch reports.
  • Provide overrides/transaction decisions to tellers for items within assigned procedural limits.
  • Assist management as needed. 
  • Drive proactive sales conversations through internal and outbound interactions including outbound calling, service to sales, teller interactions, appointment setting and effective lobby engagement.
  • Continually increases product and service knowledge to satisfy customer demand, with in-depth knowledge of all eService’s, Health Savings Accounts, IRA, consumer loans, merchant capture, ACH, Wire, Positive Pay, Retail and Business Mobile Apps, etc.
  • Represents UFB in community affairs and civic organizations both during and after business hours.
  • Actively achieves and works to accomplish individual sales, referral, operational, and community involvement goals.
  • Perform duties related to the Bank Secrecy Act under the guidance of the BSA Officer.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • ‪Associate degree preferred. Will consider 2+ years of general banking and finance experience in lieu of a degree.
  • ‪1-year sales/marketing experience in a financial environment preferred.

Physical Requirements of Essential Job Functions:

The associate is frequently required to sit and/or stand, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects, tools or controls that are typical of an office/bank environment. Lifting items weighting up to 10 pounds on a consistent basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 80% of the work period while operating equipment such as computers, phones, calculators, etc.

Working Conditions:

  • Typical office environment.
  • Extended viewing of computer screens.
  • Travel will be required (between branches/customer locations).
  • Overnight travel may be required as business needs dictate.
  • 40 hours per week minimum; Saturday rotation required. After 5pm work may be required as job duties demand.
