The Opportunity

Road & Rail Services is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair specialized vehicles, heavy equipment, and rail-related equipment at our Mulberry, Florida, operation.

This position is a strong fit for an experienced mechanic who can diagnose problems, complete dependable repairs, and work independently. Your work will directly support safe, reliable operations and help keep equipment ready when it is needed.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment
  • Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and mechanical systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules
  • Repair or replace hydraulic components and other equipment parts
  • Complete welding, fabrication, and mechanical adjustments as needed
  • Perform repairs in the shop and outdoors in field conditions
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
  • Document completed maintenance and repairs
  • Follow company safety procedures and equipment requirements

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage repair priorities

A CDL is preferred but is not required.
