The Mill Maintenance Supervisor supervises Millwrights for maintenance of Mill process equipment and facilities, with mechanical support in other areas as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

•    Oversight of the execution of preventive maintenance, scheduled repairs and emergency repairs to Mill Fixed Equipment Assets. 

•    Direct supervision of Mill Maintenance hourly employees.

•    Assume Mill Maintenance Foreman duties when Foreman not available.

•    Ensures maintenance efficiencies and performance in cooperation with Mill Operations. 

•    Works with Maintenance Planner, Mill Maintenance Foreman, Mill Superintendent, and Mill Foreman to meet immediate and long-term maintenance requirements and goals in support of production goals.

•    Manage and coordinate contract maintenance of Mill equipment; both on site and off site contract work. 

•    Work closely with the planning department to ensure jobs are planned and scheduled correctly.

•    Work closely with operations supervisors to meet the equipment maintenance needs of the Mill.

•    Ensure Millwrights are complying with the preventive maintenance schedule for equipment availability.

•    Manage urgent or breakdown jobs as required to keep equipment running and minimize downtime. 

•    Continuously seek ways to improve the maintenance of the equipment. 

•    Work with Maintenance Planner to ensure equipment spare parts are available. 

•    Assign work orders to employees, set and maintain high standards for quality, quantity and safety of work performed. 

•    Follow up throughout the shift to ensure performance standards are being met.

•    Participate in Risk Assessment activities as required. 

•    Participate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) as required. 

•    Inspect daily operations and projects in process and upon completion to ensure the quality and reliability of work performed.

•    Completes required paperwork and CMMS entry, including shift reports, requests for materials, timecards, etc.

•    Attends meetings as required, including training and department meetings.

•   Follows and understands MSHA rules and regulations, environmental rules and regulations, SOP and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities. Leads by example by adhering to rules and regulations and ensuring compliance to rules and regulations established by the Lucky Friday.

•    Must be able to work and communicate with other members of the work team. 

•    Must be willing to comply with all company policies and procedures.

•    Comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations. Conducts activities and work in an environmentally responsible manner. Is aware of procedures to minimize impacts to the environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

•    High School Diploma or equivalent.  Associate degree from a vocational or technical school preferred.

•    Minimum 3-5 years of experience in maintenance. 

•    Experience in a processing facility. 

•    Good understanding of mineral processing operations preferred. 

•    Experience and working knowledge of underground hard rock mining equipment and the maintenance processes and procedures associated with this equipment.

•    Must be computer literate and proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook. 

•    Prior supervisory experience preferred. 

•    Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently. 

•    Attention to detail and accuracy. 

•    Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. 

•    Must possess a valid driver’s license.

•    Familiarity with IFS business system a plus

•    ATF possessor’s clearance required.

•    Must complete MSHA 24-hour training or provide 5000-23 documentation of completed training.

•    Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
