ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Troubleshoot, diagnose, modify, fabricate and repair mill equipment such as SAG mill, ball mills, conveyors, pumps, and piping systems.   

Perform occasional welding and light fabrication.   

Generate work orders; check on the status of orders, and pick up parts and supplies from warehouse.  Operate heavy equipment associated with mill operations and maintenance. 

Must be willing to comply with all company policies and procedures, especially with regard to Safety, Human Resources, and Environmental. 

Must follow and understand MSHA rules and regulations, environmental rules and regulations, SOP and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities.

Participate in Risk Assessment activities as required.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

 

High school diploma or equivalent required. Employees must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records. 
 
 
Minimum one year experience in maintaining and repairing milling equipment, pumps, conveyors, and heavy construction equipment.


TRAINING OR SPECIAL SKILLS

 

Strong oral and written communication and problem solving skills. 
 
 Ability to work with others in a team environment. 

 

Must possess a valid driver’s license.
 
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS 

 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.   Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
