We are seeking a qualified Surgical Coordinator to join our Occupational Health team. The Surgical Coordinator will be required to travel to Cherry Hill, Deptford, Elmer, Linwood, Mullica Hill, Sewell, Vineland, West Deptford. Core responsibilities include:

•  Ā Ā Responds to both written and oral correspondence regarding scheduling changes/cancellations in a timely, accurate mannerĀ 

•  Ā Ā Maintains adequate time allotments for surgical procedures

•  Ā Ā Completes accurate documentation of informed consent with patients for surgical procedures

•  Ā Ā Provides accurate, detailed information to patients regarding test preparations, medical clearances, pre-surgical testing, and ensures proper medical clearance and pre-surgical testing has been completed

•  Ā Ā Confirms patient’s insurance provider and obtains prior authorization for surgical procedures in a timely manner

•  Ā Ā Books cases in a timely manner with all necessary equipment ordered upon receipt of authorization

•  Ā Ā Initiates follow up of medical clearances and PAT’s and works with PCP directly to ensure patient is fully vetted for surgery

•  Ā Ā Communicates as needed with physicians and other staff about any patient concerns/issues related to scheduling

•  Ā Ā Books surgeries based on physician volume maintaining appropriate standard turn-around times

•  Ā Ā Obtains referrals as required by insurance plan

•  Ā Ā Schedule pre-surgical/post-op appointments as required

Required Skills & Experience

ā—Ā  Ā Ā Candidate must have a High School DiplomaĀ 

ā—Ā  Ā Ā Surgical Coordinating experience

ā—Ā  Ā Ā Surgical prior authorization experienceĀ 

ā—Ā  Ā Ā Candidate should be familiar with EMR
