Hours:  40 hrs/wk Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

The Referral Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing incoming patient referrals to the practice. This role serves as a liaison between referring providers, patients, and clinical staff to ensure referrals are processed efficiently, medical records are obtained, and appointments are scheduled in a timely manner. The Referral Specialist helps create a positive patient experience while supporting continuity of care and practice growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managed inbound and outbound phone communications
  • Scheduling patient appointments
  • Collaborating with clinical staff and other departments

 

**Seeking candidates with strong clerical experience.  Previous customer service and medical office experience are highly desirable**

 

Requirements:

  • Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum one-year medical office experience or combination of extensive customer service work experience and education in insurance verification, patient registration, and medical terminology.
  • Requires working knowledge of payer billing requirements, regulations, and the third party appeal and denial process.
