ANDRITZ is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team in Muncy, Pennsylvania. This role is ideal for a hands-on design professional who enjoys turning 2D drawings and concepts into accurate 3D models and manufacturing-ready designs.

Whether your background is in mechanical design, drafting, tool & die, mold design, pattern making, CNC manufacturing, or industrial equipment design, this position offers the opportunity to work on highly engineered products that support industrial operations worldwide.

What You'll Do

  • Convert existing 2D drawings into detailed 3D models and production-ready designs.
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings, product documentation, and design records.
  • Modify and improve existing product designs to support manufacturing and customer requirements.
  • Utilize CAD software to develop design solutions and manufacturing support files.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, CNC Programming, Engineering, Product Management, and Sales teams.
  • Support fabrication activities by ensuring designs are accurate, manufacturable, and meet production schedules.
  • Review drawings and models for quality, accuracy, and compliance with design standards.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, product improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain organized engineering databases, design files, and documentation.
  • Participate in occasional customer visits, training activities, and technical discussions.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree, Technical/Trade School Degree, or equivalent experience in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience using CAD software in a manufacturing, industrial, tooling, machining, foundry, or design environment.
  • Ability to interpret and work from 2D drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Understanding of mechanical design concepts and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical design, drafting, CAD design, tooling design, mold design, pattern making, or manufacturing support.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, CATIA, NX, Fusion 360, Mastercam, Cimatron, or similar CAD software.
  • Knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, molds, patterns, or manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, machining, foundry operations, tooling, or equipment design.
  • Exposure to engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and production documentation.

No Cimatron Experience? No Problem.

Experience with Cimatron is a plus, but it is not required. We are willing to train candidates who have strong CAD design experience using other 2D or 3D design platforms.
